It's a 3-week workshop starting Thursday, February 27th that I've created to help mommies reignite their sex lives, reconnect with their bodies, and re-prioritize themselves & their relationships.
It's been three years since I published my first book, The Official Booty Parlor Mojo Makeover – Four Weeks To A Sexier You (HarperCollins), which I wrote while I was pregnant with Rocky.
It's a 30-day program designed for women to express the sexiest, most confident version of themselves and create a more satisfying sex life.
The “Busy Mommy” is one of the Mojo Models I speak to in the book, and during my writing process, I interviewed dozens of moms to get their insight into body confidence, sex and marriage after baby.
At the time, I didn't have any personal experience beyond pregnancy into the wonders/challenges/triumphs/tribulations of actual motherhood.
Now, two kids later, as I juggle family, career, self, friends and a little sleep (remember that?), my understanding and shared experience of motherhood, marriage & mojo is greatly expanded.
I became acutely aware of the new challenges that motherhood presented to my once-shining mojo, like a dip in desire, sheer exhaustion, far less time to focus on myself, far more ‘who's-working-harder?' squabbles with the hubs, and oh yeah, wondering who's breasts are these anyway?
But you see, feeling sexy and loving my body is part of my DNA, it's practically my core job responsibility as the founder of Booty Parlor. Thinking about sex more than the average woman is something I've always enjoyed.
Having an exciting sex life fuels my creativity and makes me feel younger and more vital. So, I didn't stay in a “mommy slump” for very long. I quickly got my act in gear and started practicing what I'd preached in the Mojo Makeover.
And quite quickly, I overcame the anti-aphrodisiacal effects of spit-up and toddler snot bubbles. I found the thrill alive & kicking in the bedroom again after 9 years of marriage.
I began flirting with my husband (and the world!) again and started receiving far more positive energy, which provided me with energizing emotional boosts throughout my busy, hectic days.
I started sharing my experience at my mommy-and-me classes, school drop-offs, and on playdates. My mom-friends started adopting my tips and tricks, and they too began to feel sexier and rekindle their post-baby sex lives.
And so – my next project was born — The Mommy Mojo Makeover, a group workshop designed to inspire mommies to feel sexy again.
Week by week, there'll be inspiring lecture, fabulous guest presenters (think a mini burlesque lesson!), group break-out sessions that promote sharing, learning and friendship… and of course, cocktails, laughs and a crazy-amazing SWAG bag from Booty Parlor.
I'll be covering topics like Sexy Body Confidence, Infusing Everyday with Sex Appeal, Communicating Your Desires, The Big 5-0 Progam, Exploring Fantasies, and Focusing on Foreplay.
Yeah, it's gonna be juicy. It's gonna be rich!! And I know my mamas will experience a real transformation…
As for my location? I've got the coolest partner in the ‘Burg as my lovely hosts — Frolic! play space.
I've been going to Frolic! since the day we moved to Brooklyn back in Feb of 2012.
Before we left LA, I spent hours researching and brainstorming ways to recreate the type of amazing mommy community I'd built in LA, but in Brooklyn. When I discovered Frolic! online, I felt like BAM! Tada! Mystery solved. That could be the place where I'd meet my new “mommy besties.”
It was definitely a beacon of hope as I left my treasured LA mamas to start our new Brooklyn adventure. We joined Frolic! the day we moved here, and I've been there several times each week every week since then.
The owners, Carey & Julia, are two of the coolest, smartest, most approachable women in town – and they've done a tremendous job creating a real community & place that all the moms & kids want to be at.
And I can truthfully say that I met most of my closest new mama friends in that bright, beautiful space. It's the perfect location for us mamas to come together without the kids for 2 hours and really focus on ourselves!
I'm so excited to share this with all over you… and look forward to seeing you on February 27th, March 6th and March 13th!
