Stop What You Are Doing! It’s National Orgasm Day!
With that being said, when was the last time you gave yourself an O?
Last week? Last month? Or has it been so long you can’t… quite… remember?
In honor of National Orgasm Day, I’m sharing my thoughts about one of the most normal, healthy, honest and healing acts of self-care you can do for yourself as a woman and mother… giving yourself a big O.
And yet, maybe you read that and felt immediate resistance.
Maybe you say, I’m a busy mama, who has the time or energy?
Maybe you need a refresher on the benefits of pleasuring yourself. If so, here’s a few:
1) Orgasms release your body’s natural endorphins and give you a rush of joy (try masturbating when you need to shake off a bad mood or a serious case of “toddler irritation”).
2) They can relieve stress while deeply connecting you to yourself (oh, hi there, remember yourself?).
3) And of course, self-pleasuring can wake up your lazy libido by keeping you regularly revved up, instead of struggling to “rise to the occasion” when your partner makes a pass at you.
But most importantly, and for MOTHERS in particular, regular self-pleasuring is a practice in powerfully putting your needs first—even if just for a few moments.
And we ALL know just how important this is.
Here’s the truth: I don’t know any Mama who doesn’t deserve more pleasure in her life, or any Mama who has ever said, “Oh, I’m so bummed I just gave myself an amazing O.”
So, what are you waiting for?
Check out this video with my thoughts on WHY and HOW to celebrate National Orgasm Day, and then go give yourself a big, delicious dose of sensual pleasure.
